You could spend longer in Mumbai if you want, but we think this three day 'add on' to any of our main tours,  is a great way to get a good flavour of the city.  This optional tour is normally done on your way home.
We suggest a small boutique hotel located at Colaba and close to the Gateway of India and the famous Taj Mahal hotel, but there are many grades of hotel available and we  will be happy to quote you for these.

Day 01:  Arrive Mumbai and transfer from the domestic airport to Hotel. After lunch a  guided visit to the Prince of Wales museum, with the evening at Chowpatty beach.
Day 02
:  Morning boat ride by catamaran to Elephanta Island and its stunning carved caves with guide, return by lunch time, and later half day guided Mumbai city tour. Overnight in hotel.
Day 03: Morning free until your transfer to Mumbai International airport.

Day 01:  Fly UK to Bangalore, via Arabian Gulf, or, Mumbai.

Day 02: Arrive at Bangalore airport from the U.K.  Transfer to a hotel near the airport.  Rest of the day at leisure for shopping and experiencing some of the finest restaurants and pubs in this cosmopolitan city. Overnight in Bangalore. 

Day 03
: Morning departure by road to Hassan, enroute visiting Shravanbelegola, which has the
second largest monolith in the world; the statue of Gomateswara – a Jain saint, which is a single
piece sculpture standing 17 metres high and is a major pilgrimage destination. Check-in to hotel,
with time to relax in the afternoon or take a cooling dip in the swimming pool.

Day 04: Early morning departure for Belur with its seemingly endless rows of carved figures,
large and small, which adorn the walls and ceiling frieze.  Continue on to Halebid – site of one of
the biggest Hoysala temples. Return to the hotel with time for lunch and a little relaxation or swim
in the pool before enjoying the fun part of this tour with an afternoon bullock cart ride into the local village.

Day 05: Early breakfast, then departure for your hotel in the district of Coorg. The journey takes approximately 4 hours through some stunning countryside. Check in to your hotel,  which is built in traditional plantation style, set in it’s own coffee plantation next to the River Cauvery and surrounded by forest.   Late afternoon a guided Spice Tour takes you through the fascinating history of spices.  Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: After breakfast, depart for the Dubare Elephant Camp, which offers a glimpse into the life of the elephant.  You can bathe the elephants as part of the half day programme (bathing, feeding, lecture on elephants by a vet and a 45 minute elephant ride to a watering hole in the forest) at the Elephant Camp.   Return to hotel in time for lunch. The afternoon may be used to relax by the poolside or use other facilities the resort offers like the excellent Ayurveda spa.  Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 07: Optional, early morning 4 Km guided cycling trip to the tribal village in the forest or bird watching. In the afternoon depart for Byllekuppe, the second largest Tibetan settlement outside Tibet.  Complete with a Tibetan monastery with 7000 monks, a Tibetan village and a flea market, it is an amazing experience to visit this place.  The temple, with its gold-plated roof, transports you straight to Tibet in all its splendour. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 08: After breakfast, check out and leave for Bandipur National Park (approx 4 hours). Check in to your hotel in time for lunch. Late afternoon the excitement starts with a safari into the heart of the park, where hopefully you will be lucky enough to see many varieties of wildlife in their own habitat.  Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 09: Rise and shine for an early morning (6.30 am) safari for a second chance to view the game. Return back to the Lodge for breakfast before checking out at 10.30 am.  Leave for Mysore (2 ˝ hrs). Arrive at Mysore hotel in time for lunch. PM visit to Palace, Chamundi Hill & City Market for flowers and incense. Overnight at hotel

Day 10: Stay at  your hotel and experience 'a taste of ayurveda'    In Mysore, sightseeing should include Chamundi Hill; City Palace; Hoysala Temple at Somnathpur;
City Market for flowers and incense.   Overnight at hotel.

Day 11:  Mysore sightseeing and at leisure.

Day 12: Check out at 11.00 AM and after lunch visit Tipu Sultan's hunting lodge at Srirangapatna, which was also the location of the final decisive battle for the British in India, enroute to Bangalore. Check in to hotel on arrival in Bangalore with the remainder of the day at leisure in the city. Overnight in Bangalore

Day 13: At leisure in Bangalore, for more sightseeing or last minute shopping. Overnight in Bangalore.

Day 14: Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK
